HOUSTON, TX – The Tyrannosaurus Rex is considered king of the dinosaurs, and the bones of one just arrived at the Smithsonian Museum.

The T. rex transported to the Smithsonian is one of about half a dozen near-complete T. Rex skeletons that have been uncovered. It’s about 85% complete.

It arrived in pieces and will be constructed soon.

Locally, there are three to be found in the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Two are cast copies and one is real bone.

The Smithsonian plans to overhaul their dinosaur hall within the next five years and their new T. rex is going to be the centerpiece.
