MONTEVIDEO, URUGUAY – Presidential news conferences and interviews have come a long way since the days when reporters sat back and listened.

Now they toss shoes as well as questions.

But a reporter for Vice may have taken the presidential interview a little higher. Krishna Andavolu was interviewing Uruguay’s President José Mujica about the new law that makes Uruguay the first nation in the world to legalize pot.

So, of course, he had to light up a joint at the start of the interview. What followed may be the first time a reporter did a doobie during a presidential interview.

Vice will show the full interview later, but it’s probably safe to say this is an example of doobie-ous journalism.
