FORT BEND COUNTY — A quiet neighborhood became a crime scene first thing Monday.  A mother and father are dead, and their two kids are recovering from being shot.

“It appears to be domestic, we have ruled out any kind of burglary situation or home invasion situation,” said Bob Haenel, Public Information Officer with the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office.

The details are still vague, but the 15 year old girl reportedly called police shortly after 6 in the morning.  She and her 13 year old brother were airlifted to Memorial Hermann.  Their mom and dad were dead when cops showed up.

“[They were] everyday ordinary people…children were out playing, participating with other children in the neighborhood,” says neighbor Tarla Crumb.

While the community on Russett Lane near New Territory Boulevard in Sugar Land tries to make sense of it all, the kids are said to be in stable condition after coming out of surgery.
