HOUSTON, TX — The biggest tire recycling center in the world is opening up right here in Houston!

Genan is a company that’s no stranger to tire-recycling. They operate the world’s other largest tire-processing plants in Germany and Denmark as well.

The tires are processed into raw materials and those raw materials can end up in playgrounds, sports tracks, building products and more.

Lars Raahauge, the Genan Director of Business Development, said the plant will recycle 110,000 tons of tires each year.
