HOUSTON, TX – The day that marks the unofficial start of summer, was first reverently known as Decoration Day, the time when family and friends decorated the graves of their warriors who fell in the great War Between the States.

Today, at the Houston National Cemetery, family and friends pay their respects to their loved ones as the spring winds blow between the tombstones, row on row, that mark their place of final rest.
