VACAVILLE, CA – Nothing hurts more than losing your BFF. Just ask Mr. G the goat.

Ever since he was rescued from the home of a hoarder in Southern California, and taken to Animal Place Sanctuary in Vacaville, he did nothing but mope around and refused to eat.

At first no one could figure out what was bothering Mr. G, he wasn’t sick.

Until the workers at the sanctuary found out he had a long-lost friend, a small female donkey named Jelly Bean.

“Animal control said he was raised with a burro and they were best friends. And when they were separated, the burro really brayed and cried a lot and we said ‘oh my god maybe he’s grieving at the loss of his friendship.”

Animal Place acted quickly. A volunteer drove 14 hours round-trip to bring Jelly Bean up from SoCal. The YouTube video of the reunion has touched millions.

Once reunited there was an amazing transformation in Mr. G; he regained his appetite and love of life.

Just goes to show you everyone needs a best friend — even animals.
