dadGRAND FORKS, ND – Parents in Grand Forks, North Dakota looked on as their kids walked across the stage to get their high school diplomas.

But there was one parent missing, Taylor Crafton’s dad.

A member of the Air Force he had been deployed to Cuba months earlier but he was always there in spirit.

Taylor says, “My mom’s friend she made it for us back in Virginia and sent it to us for prom and for graduation so he could still be here in spirit.”

But as it turns out they didn’t need the cardboard cutout at graduation.

As Taylor walked across the stage her dad came out and surprised her in front of an emotional crowd.

“I’m just so happy he’s here better than a car better than anything so yeah that’s all I wanted for graduation.”

It was a “grad” surprise!

“This is a once in a lifetime thing i have to do for her so I’m just glad it happened.”
