HOUSTON, TX – The hometown preacher, Joel Osteen, already seemed to have some backing from above. Now that will come from a satellite too.

Lakewood Church’s front-man is getting his own SiriusXM radio channel that will feature live call-in shows hosted by he and his wife, along with rebroadcasts of his sermons.

The new channel comes just in time for Osteen’s night of hope event at Yankee Stadium on Saturday. Coincidence? We think not.

Sirius-XM has almost 30 million subscribers. Osteen preaches to 40,000 people each week in Houston alone, and reaches millions on TV.

We’d say that’s what you call a match made in heaven.
