LONGVIEW, TX – It’s said that everything we do is either love, or a call for love. And it seems that’s the case for the woman who posed as a high school sophomore for basically an entire year.

After months of lying and 29 days in jail, 34-year-old Charity Johnson is opening up.

“I’m just a normal person… like any other normal person… trying to pursue her education… get her education and make it through life and be a better person,” Johnson says.

She goes on to say that the reason for her lying is this: “I guess you can say looking for love.”

Johnson says her family abandoned her and she doesn’t even know where she was born, but by posing as a teenager people, were willing to take her in and care.

Johnson was released early from her 85 day sentence.
