NewsFix All-Stars Take to Court in Media Basketball Tournament

HOUSTON, TX – Perhaps, all eyes of the basketball world would be on San Antonio where the Spurs were hosting the Miami Heat in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, but at Houston’s Toyota Center, 12 media teams were battling for supremacy at the Rockets “3-on-3 Media Tournament.”

NewsFix fielded their group of all-stars led by personality Greg O.

Greg O says,  “It’s a fun 3-on-3 tournament but this is personal. What I mean by that is that it is between me, myself and I. I’m trying to stand on my two feet because I am exhausted right now. But I can block out with the best of them. You see, this is me under the basket right here . Oh wait, that’s my own teammate. I’m sorry.”

The NewsFix team was able to put aside some joking to score wins over Fox 26 and KPRC 2.

Editor Tillman Moses led all NewsFix scorers and says, “We’re getting some wins out here. That’s a big step we just got to work on moving the ball a little bit more. I’m out here enjoying the tournament with my teammates. That’s all that matters.”

Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey put a team together to compete as well. Fortunately there was no NBA talent on that squad and Morey offered his opinions on the talent pool at the tournament.

Morey says, “Very, very poor. Very low. (laughs) The writing talent is high but the basketball talent is pretty low.”

NewsFix would fall short of winning the championship, so just who did?
