TORONTO – The whole Rob Ford song and dance is now becoming an actual song and dance!

The disgraced Toronto mayor is in rehab (following a bunch of antics including an admission to smoking crack) but in the meantime, his semi-tragic story is apparently music to some people’s ears.

“This is such a huge story. It’s operatic, it’s Shakespearean, it’s such a big story we thought the next level is obviously singing and dancing,” says Brett McCraig, writer of Rob Ford the Musical.

Impersonators are flocking to Toronto to audition for the lead role.

“Rob Ford is not black and white. This is a lampoon of someone that is pretty impossible lampoon, because he is a cartoon as it is,” says actor Travis Hay.

The show is set to open in Toronto this September.
