MADERA RANCHOS, CA – During the California drought, crooks are thirsty for easy water.

Brian Wachter has a water tank that holds 2,500 gallons. His daughter, Courtney, says over the past three months their water has been stolen eight times.

“It’s horrible, we go without showering, we can’t flush our toilets, we can’t wash our hands when they get dirty,” said Courtney.

The thefts are draining the family. To have the tank refilled, Wachter says it costs $275. What`s more, he sends this message to the thieves: “If you`re that thirsty, ask me.”  He`d be happy to share his water.
