Philly food truck explodes, could it happen in Houston?

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Terrible indigestion in Philly, as more than 12 are injured, two critically, with second and third degree burns when the propane tank in a food truck exploded.

With the food truck trend blowing up all over Houston, how likely is it for something like this to happen around these parts? Not as likely.

In Houston, food trucks are heavily regulated. Some say too heavily, but good for us that any food truck with propane on board must seek a permit from the fire department – which includes an inspection from a state licensed propane company.

Lots of answers to come about what caused the Philadelphia truck to blow. Hopefully lessons will be learned to keep this kind of action off the menu.
