Thousands flock to Houston for Donate Life Transplant Games of America

HOUSTON, TX – Some of life`s most inspiring athletes from around the world take to Houston this weekend for the Donate Life Transplant Games of America.

Both organ donation recipients and living donors compete all over town to celebrate the gift of life, and boost awareness of, and registration at, donatelifetexas.org where you can become an organ, eye and tissue donor.

Kevin Myer, with Donate Life Texas says, “In the United States of America, we have 122,000 people waiting for organ transplants and right here in Texas we have 12,000 people waiting.”

In downtown Houston, cyclists of all ages compete in 1k, 5k, and 20k races through the city streets. At the Rice aquatics center natatorium athletes participate in the swimming competition. And getting out of that hot sun, at the George R Brown Convention Center, these walking miracles competed at indoor games from poker to darts.
