NEW YORK, NY – Cities all across the country have dealt with police brutality and this story is no different.

Eric Garner of Staten Island died after allegedly being put in a choke hold and slammed on the ground by NYPD cops.

The whole incident was caught on cell phone video.

Witnesses say the 43-year-old asthmatic had just broken up a fight when he was approached by officers about selling illegal cigarettes.

Garner denied the allegations and even asked cops to leave him alone.

His cries for help apparently weren’t enough to make the police stop.

NYPD says Garner suffered a heart attack during the arrest.

An investigation has been launched, but that’s little consolation for the wife and six kids left without a husband and father.
