Tokyo artist arrested for distributing 3D vagina artwork

TOKYO, JAPAN –  We’ve seen how 3D printers are already changing the lives of people and animals alike.

What one Japanese artist in Tokyo chose to copy and print landed her in handcuffs and a jail cell. The 42-year old artist, who goes by Rokude Nashiko had been trying to raise money online to pay for the construction of a kayak in the shape of her lady parts.

Knowing it’s what’s on the inside that counts, Rokude decided in exchange for opening their wallets she would open her legs, giving her supporters access to data that allowed them to create a 3D image of her great below.

This isn’t her first crotch-creation, either. Other masterpieces include phone covers and dioramas from below the equator. While Japan may be notorious for its pornographic industry, obscenity laws still forbid the depiction of actual genitalia. When police raided Nashiko’s office they apparently took about 20 pieces of her artwork with them.
