Houston family to walk from Disneyland to Disney World in memory of daughter

HOUSTON, TX — It’s a long walk filled with memories, emotion and hope for others.

The Cobb family of Humble is on the brink of a 4,000-mile journey across the country in memory of their daughter Julia, who lost her battle with pediatric cancer this past fall.

Like many eight-year-old girls, Julia loved Disney, which is why the Cobb family’s walk for pediatric cancer awareness stretches from Disneyland in California to Disney World in Orlando.

Julia’s father Jonathan said, “Julia went from one magic kingdom to the next, and that’s why we are walking from one magic kingdom to the next here on earth.”

Disney World is known for being the place where dreams come true, and the Cobb family’s dream is to see a cure for pediatric cancer.

They’re expecting the trek to take around eight months. When they finish, no doubt the “happiest place on earth” will bring a few tears.
