Darth Vader polls better than any potential 2016 presidential candidate

HOUSTON, TX – Darth Vader for president? Don’t underestimate the power of the dark side. The Sith Lord isn`t on the 2016 ticket, but the Washington Post took favorability ratings of Star Wars characters from popular blog ‘FiveThirtyEight’ and compared them to favorability ratings of real world 2016 hopefuls.

Luke, Han and Yoda stayed far in the lead, but Darth Vader`s favorability rating beat out supposedly strong candidates like Hilary Clinton, Mike Huckabee, Rand Paul, and Marco Rubio.

And Star Wars enthusiasts think of the ratings?

Richard Ocampo says, “That`s kind of crazy how all these fictional characters are ranking so much higher than our real life counterparts.”

Another Star Wars fan adds, “Darth Vader was really about the people who he loved. And took care of the people he love… Where as Hilary Clinton let some sly stuff go under nose right there in her face,” explains David Simon.

And the supreme evil of all things Lucas, Emperor Palpetine, scored higher than Paul Ryan and Texas Governor Rick Perry.

“Realistically even though Palpetine was evil, Palpetine was smart.”

David Wahlen suggests, “I know Rick Perry is ridiculed on a national stage cause he puts his foot in his mouth so much, and that may have something to do with it. Palpetine, that`s tough, if you come under Palpetine that`s pretty bad.”

And Zachary Taylor adds, “If you have someone who can brainwash someone and turn them evil, while also making them fear you, then you are a powerful, powerful politician.”

These potential candidates better get with it before the primaries. It would be pretty bad to have to reach over to the dark side for a running mate.
