HOUSTON – The petition to repeal the Houston Equal Rights Ordinance has fallen short of the required number of signatures, Mayor Annise Parker and City Attorney David Feldman announced Monday afternoon.

15,249 signatures were deemed valid, while 17,269 were required for a referendum in the upcoming November election. This means voters will not see the ordinance placed on the ballot.
