Boy bitten by young shark in Lake Pontchartrain
SLIDELL, LA – A little boy who was standing on the edge of the North Shore got a nasty bite to the back of his foot.
“Sharks are curious, they were out there swimming, splashing around, he [the shark] went to investigate, he did an exploratory bite, and he let go and went about his business,” says shark expert Mitchell Chevalier. “It [the lake] is a nursery ground … it’s full of bait for the young sharks to feed on while they’re growing up.”
The boy’s ankle was definitely bloodied up, but he is expected to be fine.
