Company YouVisit uses Oculus Rift headset to give virtual tours of college campuses
NEW YORK, NY – Trying to decide where to go to college? Don’t have enough frequent flyer miles for all those trips to scout out campuses? You can’t tour everywhere. If you don’t, you won’t really know if you’ll be heading into the hallowed halls of academia or just some run down animal house style frat. But now you can check out and compare your favorite colleges, all from the comforts of your own computer.
It’s called Oculus Rift, a virtual reality headset recently made famous after Facebook bought it for 2 billion dollars a few months ago. Now a company called YouVisit is using it to show you around college campuses.
Sadly, just like college tuition, Oculus also comes with a hefty price tag. The good news; instead of shelling out three hundred fifty dollars for the headset, you’ll soon start seeing the virtual reality gadget at college fairs and recruitment events. But remember: even though the new specs can take you from dorm rooms to stadiums, you won’t be going anywhere without the grades.
