SUMMERVILLE, SC - Dinosaurs became extinct millions of years ago, but somehow South Carolina never got that memo. Now a Summerville High School student is in trouble with the law after he wrote about killing a prehistoric beast in a class assignment.
16-year-old Alex Stone and the rest of his classmates were asked to write a few sentences about themselves, structured liked "status" updates you'd see on Facebook. Young Alex, clearly letting his imagination run wild, posted for the project; "I killed my neighbor's pet dinosaur" followed by "I bought the gun to take care of the business". Next thing you knew, the police were called faster than you can say "paleontologist".
The results, cops never found the murder weapon nor the dinosaur body, but the boy got arrested anyway after police claimed he argued with them. You know how teens get when accused of killing something that's been dead for millions of years.
Alex is charged with disorderly conduct and has been suspended from school. Again, to reiterate; dinosaurs became extinct millions of years ago. Now it's looking like common sense could also be facing the same exact future.
