HOUSTON, Tx. -- A new study says cat owners need to butt out!

According to the survey from Cats Protection, the UK’s leading feline welfare charity, most kitty parents think that petting their puss is the way to calm it down in moments of stress, but that's all wrong.

Experts say being over-pettied actually causes anxiety, and what kitties really want when they're worked up is just some space.  Otherwise, give them lots of love.  Just pay attention to what your fur-ball likes best.
