HOUSTON, Tx. -- The seventh graders of Pin Oak Middle School are portraying the Texas' real-life candidates in a Gubernatorial Debate, as well as candidates for Attorney General and Lieutenant Governor.

Kristin Hall, a history teacher and organizer at Pin Oak said,"The speeches are taken from the actual debates, from tweets, from quotes online on their campaigner's website and anything published so it is authentic."

The most impressive part? The kids really seemed to understand the issues they were debating.

Hilary Ouellette, the student who portrayed Wendy Davis said, "There was a lot of memorizing. I normally pay attention to the news anyway but this gave me a lot of information about what's really happening with the candidates."

The next Pin Oak Middle School debate? You can bet the 2016 Presidential Debate will be on their radar.

These kids no doubt will have many good years ahead, either running for office or voting.
