Halloween is this Friday, and already we have seen our fair share of tasteless costumes. Probably the winner of worst costume ever goes to the “Ray Rice” wife-beating costume.

And if that wasn’t bad enough, how about a couple dressing as Ray Rice and Janay in blackface and then proudly posting it on social media.

Sunday morning, Keith Olbermann shared this picture of a couple's Ray and Janay Rice blackface costume with his over half a million Twitter followers, taken from their son's since deleted Instagram account.

Unfortunately, they weren’t the only ones sporting the Ray Rice costume. A quick search of the Instagram hashtag #rayrice turns up even more terrible examples, there’s even little kids dressing up as him with a blow up doll.

Janay Rice has shared her thoughts about the costume mocking her real life drama. Tweeting, “It’s sad, that my suffering amuses others.”

A lot of people don’t have sympathy for Janay saying she’s the one who chose to stay. Here’s my take on the Ray Rice wife-beating costume; it’s racist, misogynistic, and honestly so not original. And to me it’s really “scary” that someone would even think that this was funny to dress up as. Have we not learned anything?! What’s also “scary” is that 1 in 4 women will be the victim of domestic violence. And ironically, October is National Domestic Violence Awareness month.

Honestly, I’d rather see a “sexy Ebola” costume than this.

And that’s today’s helping of The Online Dish with Maggie.
