SAN FRANCISCO, California -- If you take the tipping out of serving, then do you think quality will go down?

It’s something to think about now that five restaurants in the San Francisco area will soon stop taking tips and start adding a twenty percent flat service charge to the bill.

It all goes back to the expected approval of a higher minimum wage.  More restaurants may jump on this bandwagon, too.

Under this model, customers will be encouraged to talk to a manager if they are dissatisfied with service.
