HOUSTON, Tx. -- Not every couple is able to break up and stay on good terms, but that's not the only reason why Arin Andrews and Katie Rain Hill stand out.

They are both transgender. And they both just wrote a book.

“Rethinking Normal” and “Some Assembly Required” tell their respective stories, from getting bullied to finding each other.

“People spat on me, hit me, pushed me, called me names, I was the freak of the school,” says Katie, who now calls herself a “confident woman.”

“I have this drive to live now and to share my story with others and that's something I really didn't have before this transition,” says Arin.

Their books are on sale now.

Why does the fact that they are transgender, qualify for a story on this sad excuse for news? I thought equality was to respect the person despite their differences, here, Newsfix has exploited it.
