PEARLAND, Texas - An early Christmas came for a hundred kids and their parents from Dwight Howard's D12 Foundation and Push to Win Outreach with a shopping spree at the Super Target in Pearland, Texas. The families all live in the Sunny Side community.

"Sunny Side was ranked number six by the FBI as having the highest percentage of crime in the nation. These children are under served but are very deserving of what is happening to them today," explained Jean Gabriel of Push To Win Outreach.

Sunny Side resident Deshaundra Gbadamosi appreciates the gesture saying, "It means everything for me and my kids to have someone help us out with Christmas shopping, and it's just a great spirit. I love it."

Rockets center Dwight Howard comes from humble beginnings and wants to make a difference for these kids. Howard says,  "I'm blessed and it's always great to bless other people and to see these people smile."

At least for some of the Sunny Side kids, it will be a more cheerful holiday.
