HOUSTON, TX - Hundreds of children danced, cheered and played music down the streets of Houston for the 9th Annual MLK Youth Parade.

With thousands of spectators on hand, many of the kids knew how important it was to honor Dr. Martin Luther King.

"Martin Luther King impacted us so much in our history.  Everything he did gives us the opportunity for what we do now," Jessica Bryant said.

One of the cheerleaders in the parade, Kera Sanchez, added, "We're very thankful because white and black people are supposed to be together. Who cares if they're white or black?"

On Monday, The 21st Annual MLK Grande Parade will take place at 10 AM. That parade starts at the intersection of San Jacinto & Elgin in Midtown.
