Art Car Teacher shares the joys of art

HOUSTON – Rebecca Bass has been a teacher in HISD for two decades and has been helping students design art cars to enter into the parade for equally as long. Rebecca Bass has been a teacher in HISD for two decades and has been helping students design art cars to enter into the parade for equally as long. She’s currently creating an entry with Reagan High School, under a new title that HISD has given her – Art Car Teacher – the first dedicated teacher for Art Cars the schools district, and likely every school district in the country, has ever had.

This year's entry made my volunteer art students is called "Electric Ladyland." The vehicle is a 1981 Mercedes which has been outfitted with the artwork to celebrate pioneering guitarist Jimi Hendrix.
