HOUSTON, TX-- When they decided to create their 15th art car this year, the folks at Saint Arnold Brewing Company knew they wanted to go big. "We not only want to create a beautiful piece of art on a car, but we want the car itself to also be a piece of art," explains Brock Wagner, founder of the oldest craft brewey in Texas. So they bought a 1959 convertible Cadillac for the project. At nearly 19 feet long, Wagner calls it "a giant canvas to create a piece of art on."

The woman hired to design and paint the vehicle is Robynn Sanders, a local Houston artist who has made her living painting art cars since 2009. She has painted about 20 different vehicles in that time, several of those for St. Arnold's. "I have to give props to Houston for supporting me as an art car artist," she says, "and having weird enough people that want them."

Her design on the Caddy is a visual representation of how beer is made, morphing in a geometric, rainbow pallette from gold leaf at the front to copper, purple and red flames racing down the tails fins and trunk.

Wagner calls the Art Car Parade his favorite event in Houston-- "bar none!" You can check out the brewery's newest creation Saturday, Aprill 11 at 2pm at this year's parade downtown along Allen Parkway.
