TULSA, OK – Tulsa County Reserve Deputy Robert Bates has been charged with second-degree manslaughter in the shooting death of Eric Courtney Harris, the Tulsa County district attorney said Monday.

Police say Bates thought he pulled out his Taser but “inadvertently” fired his gun.

Video of Harris’ final moments on April 2 — following an undercover weapons sting and a foot chase — shows Bates announcing he is going to deploy his Taser but then shooting Harris in the back with a handgun.
