An estimated 35,000 people marched in the 44th annual March for Babies, a four-mile walk that aids the March of Dimes, a non-profit organization that raises money to support research and community efforts that help mothers have healthy pregnancies and children.

"We all strive to have healthy babies, but some of us aren't that lucky," says Graciela Wright, who marches each year with her family.

In Texas, during an average week 7,723 babies are born, 1,001 are premature and 48 of them die before their first birthday.
