GARLAND, TX -- The Prophet Mohammed cartoon contest shooting in Garland over the weekend isn't much of a “who done it.” But was ISIS involved? The terror group says yes. The FBI says maybe not.

The self-declared Islamic State is reportedly claiming responsibility, and warning of more attacks to come, saying their soldiers are here on American soil. But the FBI isn't totally convinced, at least when it comes to their involvement in Garland.

Investigators are privately saying they don't "at this point" believe that Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi—who wounded a security guard before being shot and killed by police—had anything more than loose social media associations with jihadi fighters overseas. Of course, they are not taking claims of future violence lightly.

The case remains under investigation.
