HOUSTON, TX - Heavy rain caused widespread flooding across southeast Texas, stranding some drivers.

Late Tuesday night, several cars along the Gulf Freeway were underwater. One of the drivers tells us the rain was coming down so hard, she and several others stopped along the side of the freeway to see if it would pass. Instead of slowing down, the rain caused flood waters to start creeping into the cars.

"Once the water started getting inside my car, a lot of us started vacating the cars," said driver Raie Hill. "Now it's almost above the cars. Stuff inside my car is floating."

Though the water has receded in some areas, many roads are still affected. For a full list of roads dealing with high water, click here.
