Neil deGrasse Tyson: ‘Back to the Future’ hoverboards unlikely

In “Back to the Future Part II,” Marty McFly transports to Oct. 21, 2015. We are but a few months away from this date, ladies and gentleman, so The Huffington Post decided to check in with Neil deGrasse Tyson and see how the technology is coming. The short answer: it’s not. The longer answer, according to the astrophysicist: “There are people working on it, and there are working versions of it, but hoverboards that cover everywhere? Where you would have taken a skateboard? I think that’s unrealistic, and it requires a special under surface to support it.”
