WILLSBORO, NY - The search for 49-year-old Richard Matt and 34-year-old David Sweat has now been extended from new york all the way to Canada and Mexico.

Two residents in upstate New York claim that they saw the criminals right in their own backyard, but that was about five hours before they were even reported missing.

The search for 49-year-old Richard Matt and 34-year-old David Sweat has now been extended from new york all the way to Canada and Mexico.

The convicts reportedly used power tools to cut through a steel wall to break free from their cells and shimmied down a tunnel, then eventually through a steam pipe.

New York officials think the men may have had some help on the inside and now a female employee who worked with them in a prison tailor shop is being questioned as a possible accomplice.
