HOUSTON, TX – The Astros beat the Yankees 3-1 on Sunday to earn a split in their four game series at Minute Maid Park.

“It’s a big win for us,” said Astros manager A.J. Hinch. “I think to split the series here, I think we could’ve won a couple more games. It’s nice when your starting pitcher goes out there and hands the ball to the closer.”

One of the highlights of the game came in the fourth inning when Carlos Correa doubled to center field and then scored on an error.

“I saw a miscommunication between them and when the ball dropped, I just kept running,” the rookie shortstop said. “I looked at the third base coach, and he waved me to home plate. I just ran to home plate and scored. It was really fun to tie the game.”

The Astros continue their homestand with a three game set against Kansas City, starting on Monday.
