SOUTHEAST HOUSTON, TX-- A man living in the Third Ward  wants the Houston police department to pay for his dog's vet bills after they shot him.

Last week, Prada was shot by an HPD officer who was chasing down a drug suspect.

The suspect, 29-year-old  Dwight Davis actually threw the pit bull at officers hoping it would attack them. That's when Prada was shot three times. Davis was arrested.

But now Prada's owner, Robert Alexander is left with an injured dog and thousands of dollars in medical bills.

Community Activist Quanell X is calling for the Houston police department to pay for vet costs.

Meanwhile Prada has three bullet wounds including one to her back leg which she can't use.
