HOUSTON, TX – Hours after Sandra Bland’s family filed a wrongful death lawsuit, a group gathered at Texas Southern University for a forum focused on her death.

Community leaders ranging from Congressman Al Green to a former Waller County justice of the peace spoke to the crowd. The discussion focused on police brutality and what can be done to spur change. But some in the audience grew frustrated when there wasn’t a clear solution presented.

“We didn’t come here tonight to hear ‘I don’t know,'” Shantell Roberson said. “We want to hear some answers and want to see some progress and want to see some changes.”

The forum was organized by the Earl Carl Institute for Legal and Social Policy.
