HARRIS COUNTY -- A Harris County Sheriff's Deputy is hurt during a hit and run accident, overnight.

Around midnight the deputy was on the Eastex Freeway feeder road when a Honda hit the patrol car at Hopper, forcing it off the road.

The unit struck a fireworks stand where a board went through the windshield.
The deputy suffered a minor knee injury.

Meanwhile the driver took off.  A witness actually followed him to a nearby house and deputies arrested him.

It's unknown if he was driving drunk at the time but he will face charges for not stopping.
