Citizen pulls deputy out of mangled patrol car after crash

SOUTHEAST HOUSTON -- A citizen comes to the aid of a deputy after he flipped his patrol car while responding to a call.

Around midnight the deputy was traveling north on Cullen Boulevard, on the southeast side of town, when he swerved to miss a pedestrian pushing a shopping cart in the middle of the street.

The deputy ended up losing control, flipping his patrol car, before crashing into multiple trees.

A citizen witnessed the crashed and helped pull the deputy out of the mangled car.
He was taken to the hospital and is going to be okay.
