HOUSTON - A Harris County Sheriff Deputy was injured after a hit and run accident off of the North Freeway and Aldine Bender.

Police say around midnight Tuesday, a man driving a red mustang lost control and slammed into the side of the deputy's unmarked car.

The impact of the crash caused the deputy's car to roll over several times. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

The driver of the mustang got out of the car and tried to get away, but deputies caught up with him. Investigators believe he was drunk.
