JEFFERSON CITY, MO -- Jeff Mizanskey was convicted of conspiring to sell six pounds of pot to a dealer connected with Mexican drug cartels and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
But now, he is a free man.
Thanks to new laws in Missouri where repeat drug offenders can no longer get a life sentence, and his family who fought for his freedom, Gov. Jay Nixon commuted his sentence. On Tuesday he embraced family, and went home.
