KINGWOOD, TX - Abby Guidry says being proud of yourself and your team is the best reward you can have in cross country.  The senior at Kingwood High School is ready to lead the Mustangs in their state title bid.

"My team is really good. I definitely have an awesome group of girls," Guidry said. "They're always so supportive. We really want to be top in the state, and we want to qualify for nationals. The only way we can do that is be a cohesive team."

Guidry started out as a soccer player, but during middle school, running became her passion. Now, she's hoping to continue her career as a cross country runner in college.  She hasn't yet made a decision on where she'll go to school, but says staying in Texas would be ideal.
