HARRIS CO., TX -- Man on a mission. After a month of gathering signatures a former police officer is turning in a petition, this morning, to rename a road after fallen Harris County Sheriff's Deputy Darren Goforth.

Andrew Callis has been spreading the word and asking for support in renaming a part of West Road, where Deputy Goforth was gunned down, in August.

Now today he takes a big step and will deliver the nearly 18-thousand signatures to the Harris County Commissioners court at 9am.

The Commissioners Court could place the item on its agenda for as soon as next week.
