Everyone can use a blessing. That includes every person and every family but what about our pets?

In this month's Houston PetTalk, we explore the 'blessing of the animals' where people in the community brought their pets to St. Andrews Episcopal Church in the Houston Heights neighborhood to be 'blessed' by God with holy water from the priest.

"We have very close relationships with our animals," said Jimmy Grace, pastor of St Andrews.

"They're like family members, they're like people."

The pet blessing honors St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint who was well known for his
love of animals.

"It just seems like a nice thing to do," said Margaret Hall, a pet owner who brought her dog Charlie Brown to get blessed.
