OXFORD, MS – The University of Mississippi's student senate has voted to remove the state's flag from campus because it still bears the Confederate blue cross.

The final student government vote had 33 in favor, 15 against, and one person abstained. It is a nonbinding resolution.

Several other colleges in Mississippi have taken the flag down as well.
