HOUSTON – They were both responding to emergencies, but ended up crashing into each other near the Medical Center late last night.

An HPD officer was headed north on Fannin when he got a call from dispatch.

The officer made U-turn to get to the scene and accidentally turned in front of an ambulance transporting a patient to Memorial Hermann.

The patient in the back of the ambulance was not hurt and made it to the hospital.

However, the officer did have some minor injuries.
