WASHINGTON, DC – President Obama welcomed the USA Women’s World Cup champs to the White House for a recognition folks won’t soon forget.

The president noted how the team took the world by storm, and inspired millions of girls to dream bigger while inspiring millions of boys to look at girls differently. He then added:

“This team taught all America’s children that playing like a girl means you’re a badass.”

The president also noted that Carli Lloyd’s performance was so outstanding that someone changed her position on Wikipedia from “midfielder” to “President of the United States.”

Soccer fans noticed that the president did not mention Hope Solo, but did point out that Sydney Leroux’s Chihuahua has 10,000 Twitter followers.
